Peer Support Residential Specialist

Department: Blake Behavioral Health
Location: Tucson, AZ

General Position Description:

The peer support position is responsible for providing outreach, engagement, re-engagement of members in semi-independent living environment. †The Peer support will also assist and ensure the well-being of clients while maintaining a positive, therapeutic, and safe environment within the facilities and programs. This position welcomes individuals and families into ESBF programs. The position assists clients in navigating community resources and offers peer support to those receiving services within the behavioral health system. Provides help to clients by offering hope, motivation, and inspiration that recovery is possible.

The employees provide assistance in the self-administration of medications, living skills education, and supports for learning how to manage their symptoms in the community.

Must be able to pass fingerprint clearance, have a high school diploma or GED, be over 21 and have a valid Arizona driverís license with no more than 2 moving violations in the past two years.

No experience necessary, EBF will train. We are looking for the ideal candidate who has the willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED. College level coursework and/or Associateís degree with an emphasis in Human Services, Psychology preferred but not required
  • Peer support or RSS training certificate of completion through a Cenpatico approved Curriculum
  • Related experience in behavioral health either as a recipient of services, a family member of someone receiving services or primary caregiver of a service recipient. In recovery from mental illness and/or substance use addition, and willing to self-identify as a person in recovery for the benefit of others
  • Knowledge of managed care systems, AHCCCS/Title XIX medical assistance screening, and RBHA/DBHS policies and practices
  • Must be at least 21
